FSSC 22000
The Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000) is a globally recognised system for auditing food safety management systems, based on ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22003 and various sector-specific standards.
Being recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), this certification proves your company’s compliance with legal requirements, similarly to the BRC Global Food Standard and IFS Food.
The FSCC 22000 provides minimal guidance for building the exact processes to achieve these goals. Instead, it provides you with a framework to develop the necessary processes yourself, allowing for greater flexibility to match your organisation’s needs
What is the difference between ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000?
FSSC 22000 builds on ISO 22000, requiring few additional requirements. It’s even possible to get both certifications in one go, which proves just how similar they are.
Primarily, FSSC 22000 is chosen due to its recognition by the Global Food Safety Initiative, which ISO 22000 does not provide on its own.
