SMG’s Belgian acquisition helps reinforce its position in monitoring food, pharmaceuticals and logistics.
Dutch investor Smart Monitoring Group b.v. (SMG) has acquired a controlling interest in Belgian RMONI. RMONI develops and produces hardware and software for the wireless registration and monitoring of crucial control parameters used in the food, medical/pharmaceutical and logistics sectors. It currently has 26,000 active sensors/measuring points that make their data accessible via the specially developed Sensor2Web cloud platform. This platform offers customers 24/7 monitoring of temperature, humidity, CO2, values, etc. The Sensor2Web concept is marketed internationally via resellers. One of the resellers for the Benelux is SMG’s subsidiary, Gullimex (gullimex.com).
SMG invests in organizations whose products and services are geared to controlling critical processes around HACCP, temperature and hygiene. SMG’s CEO Bert Nijboer says, “The acquisition of the successful RMONI fits in well with our growth strategy. Moreover, the processing of data in the Sensor2Web platform is fully in line with our Big Data & IoT philosophy.”
“We are delighted that SMG has acquired the shares from the very first investors, LRM and Allegro”, says CEO RMONI Bart Meekers. “SMG’s focus and expertise help us advance the successful development over the past ten years on an international scale.”
